Does upcharsetu auto-prescribe medicines?
No. Medicine search and autocomplete are typing aids from master registries and your shortcuts. The treating doctor must review and confirm every line before printing or sharing a prescription. The software never auto-prescribes.
Is upcharsetu compliant with Indian telemedicine rules?
UpChar Setu is a doctor-controlled documentation companion, not a telemedicine marketplace. Doctors using the platform for remote consultations must themselves comply with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines (MoHFW, 2020), NMC ethical standards, and applicable state rules. Who is legally responsible for prescriptions?
The registered medical practitioner issuing the prescription is solely responsible for its accuracy and legality under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and professional medical council rules. UpChar Setu provides documentation tools only.

Is upcharsetu a hospital management system (HMS)?
No. upcharsetu is not hospital ERP software. It focuses strictly on the doctor's outpatient consultation workflow—intake, prescriptions, and history tracking.
Is this a telemedicine platform?
No. upcharsetu does not provide patient marketplaces or video consults. It supports face-to-face and practice-based clinical records.
Who can use the platform?
It is built for MBBS doctors, MD specialists, general physicians, and private outpatient clinics.
Does upcharsetu assist with clinical diagnoses?
No. The platform is a workflow and records assistant. The treating doctor makes all clinical decisions. The software does not diagnose or prescribe.
Can I print prescriptions on my existing letterhead pads?
Yes. The built-in printing calibrator lets you adjust top and bottom margins so text prints perfectly inside pre-printed letterheads.
What formats are printed prescriptions saved in?
Prescriptions are generated as clean, highly readable PDF documents.
How do I search for an existing patient?
You can search by patient name, mobile number, or registration token.
Is there a mobile application available?
Yes. We provide an Android companion application optimized for tablet and mobile use at the consultation desk.
What happens if the internet is not available or the API fails?
upcharsetu is an online platform. However, if the internet drops or an API returns an error, the app securely caches your active consultation details on the device and syncs when connection is restored.
Is my patient data secure?
Yes. We use isolated database schemas, secure cloud storage, and encrypted connections to keep your records separate.
Can multiple doctors share one clinic account?
Yes, our clinic-level plans support multi-practitioner tenancies.
Do you charge for a trial?
No. We offer a 14-day free trial with no billing details required so you can evaluate the platform.
How are subscriptions billed?

How do I cancel my subscription?

Who owns the patient data?
